We are Christian

We perceive in Jesus the divine qualities of love, peace, compassion, and justice. We are drawn to the specific tradition and history that has gathered around his name.

We are Open-Minded

We understand faith as a quest, not a settled certainty. We cherish the Bible for its rich content of metaphor, symbol, story, and history, and also believe that God provides other sources of spiritual wisdom. We will listen to different points of view with the expectation that we can learn and grow.

We are Spiritual

We believe God is a spirit of love that can be felt and known by each of us. We believe that Christianity is as much about the heart as the head, as much about the body as the mind. "Spiritual" means praying for a better world, and rolling up our sleeves to feed the hungry, care for the sick and anguished, house the homeless, and advocate for a just society.

We are Evolving

We are willing to try new ways of being faithful, considering innovation and change.

We are Diverse

We celebrate the differences among us and trust that these differences strengthen community. To us, "diverse" means all are free to seek their own guiding principles in our midst.
